Learning High Frequency Words

High frequency words are the same as sight words.  They are the words that we read and use every day.

I know that is important that a child learns these words so that he will be able to read.  So often these are words that its best just to recognize what they look like and say.

So, what are some effective ways for teaching high frequency reading words?

I recently read an article about how skeletal muscles are directly connected to the neurons in our brain.  This brain research proves that mind/hand/body connections are powerful and effective ways for learning.

I love it!

So, when I found this activity at my favorite thrift store, I had to have it.  My children have loved it and even my three year old loves it.

This high frequency word activity is brilliant and I am so excited that Matthew seems interested and ready to use it.
